Winner: Stuart Dudley (NZ Winegrowers) a Marlborough Viticulturist for Villa Maria Estate.

Second: Dave Harris (NGIA) Production Manager at Thirkettle Nurseries in Nelson. A 12-hectare nursery specialises in a wide spectrum of container plants, from fruit trees to camellias.

Third:  Gareth Holder (Vege sector Hort NZ) ), is a technical field consultant for Abron Ltd, in the area of biological agriculture with a focus is on soil health, fertility and plant nutrients, in the Hawkes Bay. 

Unplaced Finalists

• Jessica Mills, (Floriculture) is a partner in the Lovells Flowers 4 You, a florist situated on Hawera’s main street.
• Jonathan Newby (Fruit sector Hort NZ) is employed at the family-run orchard, GD & MJ Hirst Partnership, Hawkes Bay. The company grows 10 varieties of apples and also blueberries on 70 hectares.
• Marc Higgie (Arboriculture), manages his family’s 60-acre arboretum and  a six-acre public garden
• Leigh Harrison (NZ Rec Ass’n) is on the grounds team at Waikato University as a ground keeper and gardener.
• Alex Stuart (Landscaping NZ) works on the team at Total Landscape Creations, an Auckland company offering a wide range of residential landscaping, paving and structural services.
