Winner: Caine Thompson (NZ Winegrowers) is the Managing Director for Pyramid Valley Wines, North Canterbury.

Second: Erin Farrow (Landscaping NZ) a self-employed landscaper in Auckland.

Third: Pip McVicar (NGIA) a nursery manager specialising in ornamental conifer and shelter trees, Conifer Grove, New Plymouth.

Unplaced Finalists

• Nigel McCartin (Vege sector Hort NZ),  the production manager at Oakley’s Premium Fresh Vegetables, Southbridge.
• Sandra How (NZ Rec Ass’n- Amenity Horticulture) employed by the Hamilton City Council at the Hamilton Gardens.
• Kevin McInnes (Fruit sector of Hort NZ), an orchardist for a 200-acre apple, pear and peach grower in Hawkes Bay.
• Marc Higgie ( Arboriculture), of Wanganui, manages his family’s 60-acre arboretum and  a six-acre public garden.
• Laura McGuire (Florists NZ Inc) a floral designer who owns a store specialising in native flowers and foliage.
