The RNZIH Education Trust is looking for someone who is passionate about horticulture and who can add to the great skill set of our organizing team, as our new Secretary. As well as being part of organizing the Young Horticulturist Competition, becoming the Board Secretary offers opportunities to develop your personal skills and gain broader perspective on the horticulture industry.
The Young Horticulturist Competition is a yearly competition that brings together all sectors of horticulture. Winners from sector competitions come together and compete in a two-day event held in November. The Competition was launched in 2005 and is managed by a voluntary group of industry professionals.
The Trust meets for two hours on the third Thursday of each month, at the Auckland Botanic Gardens. The Secretary will be required to take minutes and note taking and liaising with the Trust accordingly. It’s not all ‘business’ though, our meetings have a very important social aspect too-sharing stories and topics of interest.
